When I went to install my old Office an upgrade version I got a message that said since there was no acceptable version of any program to allow an Office upgrade, I couldn’t load the program. I understand that MS no longer supports Office so now it appears that MS wants to extort more money from me by having my buy a newer version of Office. Even though I feel this is a completely unacceptable business practice I guess I am willing to buy a newer version of Office.
My question is that since I already have a version of Office can I buy an upgrade version of Office or and load that or do I have to buy the complete new package? I’m afraid that if I buy an upgrade version my new computer will not recognize that I have an earlier version and crash the install.
